The Denver Broncos would like to find a middle linebacker in the 2014 NFL Draft to fill the ‘Mike’ position. The ideal Mike prospect would be at least 240 pounds and run the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. The only inside linebacker to meet both criteria in this year’s draft is Kentucky LB Avery Williamson, who checked in at 246 pounds with a 4.66 seconds dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Footballguys View: The Broncos want a “Mike” that doesn’t have to come off the field on passing downs. Williamson is a bit undersized, but he certainly has the speed to cover. The Broncos have done well with Kentucky linebackers in recent years (Danny Trevathan, Wesley Woodyard). Williamson is considered a late-round pick.
