First off, I want to apologize to everyone as this past Sunday’s draft in my opinion was by far the worse draft in the existence of The League! The MyFantasyLeague.com draft client was not to my liking at all, even after coming recommended by others. Also, the decision to not have a draft timer was all mine as I did not want league members feeling rushed or making mistakes on their draft picks all because of using the new draft client. Needless to say, Sunday did not go over with me very well and I’m sure it did not with all of you.
I will personally do more research on third party draft clients, as well as considering my original idea of using the NFL.com draft client just for our online draft next season and then transfer the rosters over because our draft is one of the most important parts of our league and it needs to be up to league standards. THIS YEAR’S DRAFT DEBACLE WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!
*League Fees*
Some league members still have league fee balances outstanding. For those of you that have been league members for several years now, what I’m about to say next will be nothing new to you. Guys, if you don’t have your league fees at this time you need to get in contact with me and say that. I have in the past and will in the future work with everyone on this matter. I know that shit happens, but what I don’t have time for is trying to chase you down or all of a sudden I can’t get a hold of you. Give me a call, shoot me a text, hell write me an email if that’s your thing. Just let me know where we are on this, I’m a pretty understanding dude. 🙂
*League Apps*
Something I meant to have up well before now is the apps for MyFantasyLeague.com, this way you can make roster changes on the go via your phone or mobile device. I’ve tried a few out myself and I’m currently using MFL Platinum as it’s free, easy to use and appealing on the eyes. I’ve posted the links for both Apple and Android apps below.
*League Poll*
Because it is Week 1 and I don’t want to give you guys information overload (probably too late 🙂 ), the first league poll will be pushed back to either next week or the week after. The poll in question that we will poll out to all league members is should we consider adding a Custom PPR Scoring System to The League! – E.F.F.L. Right now the league scoring is geared more towards RB’s and with the NFL becoming more of a passing league should we incorporate this more in our league scoring. This would also make the WR’s just as valuable as the RB’s are now.
Of course, as in seasons past we will need a 80% vote from all league members for any changes to be added or removed from The League! If 80% of all league members (20 of 24 owner/coaches) vote to include the new changes, then those changes will take effect during next season. If 100% of all league members vote to include the changes then those changes will take effect immediately (the upcoming/following week).
*NFL Confidence Pool*
Don’t forget to make your Confidence Pool picks! For a refresher on how to do that, check out The Path to the Draft | Day 12 – $50 Confidence Football Pool. The Confidence Pool picks need to be in BEFORE the Thursday night game. So get into the habit of just submitting your lineup and then submitting your pool picks for that week. $50 back to the winner at seasons end… 🙂
*E.L.S.I.E. Island*
With E.L.S.I.E. Island, there’s nothing for you to do here EXCEPT to not have the fewest fantasy points scored that week. Like the TV show Survivor, the franchise who scores the fewest points that week will be voted off of E.L.S.I.E. Island. In some weeks, there will be more than one team voted off the island. Lastly, I will be out of the country this weekend and will not be Johnny on the Spot in my replies (if I can reply at all), yeah I know. The Commissioner out of Commission! I KNNOOOOWWWWW!!!! But it’s not my fault man I was duped, my lady planned this vacation and I did not realize what week it fell on. Son of a … 🙁
