The 2017 season is in the bag and we will now turn our attention to The E.L.S.I.E. Awards. The E.L.S.I.E.’s are our leagues version of ESPN’s The ESPY Awards. These awards are perk based only, meaning you will not win a trophy or a monetary prize for winning one of these. These awards are primarily to assist you in managing your franchise for the upcoming 2018 season. You may have noticed the weekly reminders at the bottom of The Post Game Buzz post this season…
Please note that no franchise can be awarded more than two perks for a single season, and any award perk not used can be carried over to the next season although no franchise can exceed or hold more than two award perks at one time. This is to make sure that no one franchise has THAT much of an advantage over any other franchise in The League! Any teams winning more than two awards will have to decide on which two award perks they want to keep. The forfeited award perk will go to the runner up of that award!
The Smoked Salmons & The Urge to Purge lead all franchises with four award nominations, followed by the Carnival of Pain & Maclin on Dat Ass with three nominations a piece. BendTheKnee & Hyde Yo Wife round out the teams with multiple nominations with two each.

For the Most Outstanding Franchise of the 2017 Season

BendTheKnee finished to 2017 season with the best record in the Legends Conference and rode their Home Field Advantage throughout The Chase! to their first championship, winning E.L.S.I.E. Bowl VI!

**The Lombardi Award**
For the Most Outstanding Head Coach of the 2017 Season
Carnival of Pain
The Carnival of Pain had one of the best coaching efforts in recent memory. They finished with a Coaching Efficiency of 93.7%, best in all The League! Scoring a total of 3,111.19 points of a potential point total of 3,322.10 if he played all the right players every single week. He also left the fewest points on the bench of any of team within The League! with 472.76 points.

Award Perk: Can substitute a bench player for a starter AFTER match-up is over twice during the regular season ONLY.
**The Air Coryell Award**
For the Most Outstanding Offensive Coordinator of the 2017 Season (Off. Points Scored)
Smoked Salmons
The Gremlins
The Gremlins’ offense was practically unstoppable all season as they scored a league best 1,583.30 offensive fantasy points, outpacing the Smoked Salmons by almost 20 points.

Award Perk: 14-pt Home Field Advantage for the first four home games of the regular season ONLY.
**The Fearsome Foursome Award**
For the Most Outstanding Defensive Coordinator of the 2017 Season (Def. Points Scored)

Carnival of Pain
The Carnival of Pain put up one of the stingiest defenses in The League! in 2017, barely outpacing BendTheKnee for this award scoring 1,301.40 defensive fantasy points (only 0.35 points more than BendTheKnee) on the season.

Award Perk: No Home Field Advantage Against Your Team for the first four away games of the regular season ONLY.
**The Draftologist Award**
For the Franchise Who Drafted the Best Steal of the 2017 Season
BUCKNASTY BOYS
Maclin on Dat Ass
Maclin on Dat Ass had the biggest steal of the season plucking Russell Wilson-QB in the4th round. Wilson went on to finish 2nd in total fantasy points scored in 2017.
The Urge to Purge
Award Perk: Franchise can move up or down up to three spots in the upcoming fantasy draft.
**The Capologist Award**
For the Franchise Who Signed the Best Free Agent Pick Up of the 2017 Season

The Smoked Salmons snatched Jared Goff off of the waiver wire heading into week 4 and rode him all the way to the Final Four! Goff finished 14th overall in total fantasy points scored in 2017 (9th among QB’s).

For the Best Overall Team Turnaround from the Previous Season

This award was tough, as all three teams nominated had a 5-win swing from their season a year ago. The determining factor was that The Urge to Purge went from going 7-9 in 2016, to 12-4 in 2017, winning their division and being the #1 seed in the Origins Conference. The Carnival of Pain was the wildcard team from the Legends Conference and the Wellington Wells Whifflers missed the playoffs altogether…
