COMMISSIONER’S NOTE: Double Header Scoring Glitch

This week in The League! – E.F.F.L., we will highlight our first of three Double Header Weekends this regular season. With all of us (including myself) learning the MyFantasyLeague.com platform, I’ve have noticed a scoring glitch with the Home Field Advantage rule. This glitch will not affect those teams who are playing two away games or two home games this weekend, but those teams who are playing a home and an away game only. The glitch is that if you are one of those few teams, the MyFantasyLeague.com platform will award you the Home Field Advantage points even if you are the away team.

I highlighted my team in the picture above (Image 10.2E) as you can clearly see that I’m being awarded Home Field Advantage points for my first game against the Carolina Hitmen when our score should be DeSeantourage 0.00 – Carolina Hitmen 7.00. The MyFantasyLeague.com website is prompting this glitch primarily because I am the home team in my second matchup against Phlying High. As I have been trying to fix this issue for the last two weeks, I have not found a way to correct this. I have tried to adjust the score for that said team although it will only adjust the score for both of that teams games, and in the example above I only need to adjust the score for one game and not both.

Because of this I will have to adjust the scores AFTER the games are played if needed. I will also adjust the standings after this week if needed but it is VERY IMPORTANT that you all keep in mind that if you see this scoring glitch that you take into account that the score will be adjusted afterwards.

I DO NOT WANT ANY OF YOU THINKING I AM TAKING A WIN/ADDING A WIN TO ANYONE’S FRANCHISE.

Most of you I talk to during the week in some capacity, but for those others it is VERY IMPORTANT that you take 2 minutes out of your day to read this post and keep this in mind during this weekends matchups. In hindsight, my error was that I should have scheduled each team with either two away games or two home games during the Double Header Weekends which will get corrected. However, that would be extremely difficult to do now that the schedule has already been set.

I also thought about eliminating the Home Field Advantage rule during the Double Header Weekends although that would give some teams an advantage over other teams as they would have more home games than others.

Ironically, the Home Field Advantage rule has only affected two games in the thirty-six games played in the first three weeks of the season. So of course, this rule will wreck havoc this weekend. But my hopes are that the Home Field Advantage rule this weekend (and the future Double Header Weekends) will not have that much affect on this weekends matchups.
