The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly made a play to trade for Miami Dolphins DE Dion Jordan roughly two months ago, according to a respected league source. The Eagles are believed to have offered a second-round pick and LB Brandon Graham for Jordan. The Eagles would have picked up the remainder of Jordan’s four-year, $20.572 million deal.

Footballguys View: We knew the Eagles weren’t quite done with their moves (although they might be now) and we knew the Dolphins were rumored to be looking to dump Jordan. It’s enormously premature for the Dolphins to do so, and even more insane given that they moved up for him but the Dolphins never seemed to know what to do with him. The Eagles’ offer was generous so perhaps Miami was less eager than reported.
