As commissioner of The League – E.F.F.L., I am always trying to improve this league and to make it competitive as ever. I realize that many of you play in multiple fantasy leagues every year but my primary goal is for this league to be your primary league. The league that you look forward to the most year in and year out. One way I try to achieve this is by having League Polls where you guys can voice your opinions about additions that other league members have mentioned or features that you would like done away with. After all this isn’t just my fantasy league, it’s all of ours… 🙂
The League – E.F.F.L. is primarily a running back driven fantasy league, meaning the scoring settings are more geared towards the RB’s. This is relatively the trend in most leagues out there, but we are looking to add value to our WR roster spot. In an effort to do just that, we are polling to ask all league members…
Should We Add a Custom Points Per Reception Scoring System To Our Current Scoring Settings?
A PPR scoring system is nothing new although we are looking to add a Custom PPR Scoring System where the WR’s will only get a point per reception if the reception is more than 10 yards. A 7 yard reception would be scored as normal but a 12 yard reception would give that WR an extra point on top of the yardage points scored (1.2 pts for the 12 yards and 1 pt for the reception for a total of 2.2 pts).
In exploring this more, we will use the example below using Julio Jones’ stats (12 Rec., 164 Yards & 2 TD’s) from Week 3…

With a Custom PPR Scoring System in place, this will add tremendous value to WR’s and pass catching RB’s and will definitely place an emphasis on drafting more WR’s during the 1st Round of the draft. Every league member needs to vote on the League Poll, as this is your chance to be heard! For any League Poll to be included or discarded from The League! – E.F.F.L., 18 of 24 league members (80%) are needed to vote in favor of the poll or against the poll. If met, the changes will take effect for the upcoming season.

Jamstradamus were helped out in a losing cause by a 16.50 point effort from Demario Davis, who beat the Philadelphia Eagles offense for 6 tackles. With this performance, Davis was the number 6 ranked defensive linebacker for week 3. They also got help from a 15.00 point effort from Stephen Gostkowski, who beat the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 3 field goals made and 6 extra points.
“We didn’t match their intensity,” Jamstradamus coach Mike Frier said.
Causing further embarrassment, Jamstradamus could have scored 148.60 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Mike Frier left key players like Greg Olsen and his corresponding 25.40 points on the bench.
Phlying High took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 16 out of 22 other potential opponents in week 3.
This brings the record for Phlying High to 1-2, and drops Jamstradamus to a record of 0-3.
