Kate Osman Lingerie Football League

Welcome back everyone! It’s that time of year again, as fantasy owners start prepping for the upcoming fantasy football season and analyzing mock fantasy drafts. Regardless if you’re ready or not, the 2014 fantasy football season is rapidly approaching us. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait! After a disappointing finish for both my St. Pete ConVICK’S & DeSeantourage…, you know, enough about me…lol. With The League – Origins & The League – C/O 2013 poised for another great season, and the addition of The League – 2014’s Finest league, there’s so much to do in so little time.

In the coming weeks, I will set up some new tutorials to get our newest members familiar with the NFL.com website, as well as refresh some of our returning members just in case they forgot how to navigate & manage their teams. Also, we have added a bunch of new features to The League!, more than in any single season before. So we will also tackle those new additions as well. Some you may have already knew about and some you didn’t. They have all been outlined here in this season’s Official League Address, and will have follow up post to dive into them even further. So as I always say…, “Let’s Get To It!!!”

***The League – 2014’s Finest***

Gentlemen…, and ladies. The new league is open for enrollment as we have already started to fill up team spots and there are spots remaining. If you know someone you would like to add to The League!, please get in contact with me so I can get them added to the newest league 2014’s Finest! Remember, Origins & C/O 2013 league members can be awarded a second team by bringing in a new member. So if you’re interested in owning a second team just let me know.

*** League Fees ***

League Fees for Origins & C/O 2013 will be due in BEFORE your league’s draft! (unless otherwise contacted to make arrangements). Origins league fees are $30.00, while the C/O 2013 league fee’s are $25.00. You can make your league fees payment online via PayPal from the banners links below. Please be sure to make your league fee payment to the correct league. Once your league fee payment has been received, I will send out a league email or text to confirm your teams payment has been received. See below for the draft dates for your corresponding league.

NOTE: There are no league fees for The League! – 2014’s Finest.

*** League Draft ***

The League’s Draft will have a set time period EVERY season, therefore it will now be easier to schedule around that particular weekend. The League’s Draft will ALWAYS take place the last weekend of preseason, or the last weekend BEFORE the 1st week of the NFL Regular Season. This year, the NFL kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 4th, so our draft will fall the weekend before (or the last weekend of the preseason). So our league drafts will take place Saturday, Aug. 30th & Sunday, Aug. 31st in inverse order (meaning the newest leagues will draft 1st). 2014’s Finest draft will be on Saturday, while C/O 2013 & Origins drafts will take place on Sunday. The only thing still up in the air will be the set times, which we will try our best to be flexible to all league members schedules…

NOTE: The draft will now be 60 seconds per pick instead of the 90 seconds per pick.

*** Keeper’s Deadline ***

The Keeper’s Deadline will also have a set time period every year instead of just a random date. From here on out, the Keeper’s Deadline will fall BEFORE the start of Week 10. This year’s date is Wednesday, November 5th, at 11pm (EST). Regardless of the date, the Keeper’s Deadline will now always be the Wednesday before the start of the Week 10 games.

NOTE: Please disregard the Keeper’s Deadline mentioned in your league on the NFL.com website as I will change this manually after the season has started.

*** Trade Deadline ***

The Trade Deadline will remain the same as any other season as all Owner/Coaches are able to make trades during most of the entire regular season. The Trade Deadline is scheduled for Friday, November 21st, during Week 12 of the NFL Season.

*** Draft Pick Trades ***

Rarely used, and maybe not at all known about, is the option of trading your teams future draft picks. This option for Owner/Coaches is ONLY available during the season. No draft pick trades can be made during the online draft.

*** Top 10 E.L.S.I.E. Poll ***

This years E.L.S.I.E. Poll will rank teams from all three leagues, (Origins, C/O 2013 & 2014’s Finest. 36 teams in all instead of 24), meaning there will be fewer .500 teams making it near the Top 10 this fantasy football season.

*** Power Rankings ***

Power Rankings are back for the upcoming season and have been majorly overhauled. No longer will a 5-3 team, that has never had the most points scored in any week, have a better Power Ranking than a 6-2 team that has scored the most points in a single week twice.

– New for the 2014 Fantasy Season –

*** Reserve Roster Spot ***

The biggest addition to this years fantasy season is the additional reserve roster spot. No longer will Owner/Coaches have to drop a keeper because of injury. Like real NFL teams, Owner/Coaches will now be able to utilize their reserve roster spot that WILL NOT count against their 22 man roster. Now if Arian Foster-RB goes down to injury, instead of dropping him you can place him in your reserves and pick up another RB without having to drop anyone. The reserve roster spot can also be utilized during the bye weeks if you have a considerable amount of stars on their bye week at the same time. How you use this feature is completely up to you.

*** Transaction Maximum ***

For the first time in The League there will be a maximum of 25 waiver wire pick ups for the entire season. This has been added to add more strategy to the draft and also to rid those Owner/Coaches who change their entire roster week in and week out. With a league maximum in place, Owner/Coaches will second guess letting go of that big name player because they are underachieving…, or think twice about picking up that WR who had that one big game. Owner/Coaches will also be able to trade their transactions. So if one Owner/Coach is a little reluctant pulling the trigger on your proposed Vincent Jackson-WR & Jason Witten-TE for Calvin Johnson-WR, you can also throw in a few transactions to sweeten the pot. Maybe that Owner/Coach will bite if you threw in 4 transactions? The League Commissioner will keep track of all team transactions and updates will be posted weekly.

***Bounties & Fines System***

This season The League will incorporate a Bounties & Fines system in addition to having our annual grand prize payout. This payout will not compare to winning the grand prize, but will add an additional way to win monetary prizes and keep all league members involved throughout the season. Bounties & Fines can be explained more in full here.

*** Updated Offensive & IDP Scoring Settings ***

This season we added bonuses to both offensive & defensive scoring settings. No longer will your offense carry your entire team into the playoffs. Defense Wins Championships! And now Owner/Coaches will have the ability of having a stronger defense than their offense. LB’s will no longer carry your entire defense. DL’s now get 3 points for every sack accounted for as well as 1 point for every 10 yards the sack was for. So if Chandler Jones-DL sacks Matthew Stafford-QB for -7 yards, Chandler Jones will be awarded 3.7 points (3 points for the sack & 0.7 points for the yardage). DB’s scoring settings have been overhauled as well with DB’s getting 4 points for every interception as well 1 point for every 10 yards on the return. So if Janorris Jenkins intercepts a pass and returns the pick for 34 yards, he will be awarded 7.4 points (4 points for the interception & 3.4 points for the return). DB’s will also receive 1 point for every pass defended this season. The offensive scoring settings have also been updated by the way of bonuses. A complete scoring settings review will be posted August 12th.

***Rivalry Week ***

Just like in college football, The League will have a Rivalry Week, or should I say weeks! Every league team (excluding the 2014’s Finest league) has two established divisional teams as a rival for the upcoming season. Rivalries were determined last season according to where your team finished among your division. If your team finished 3rd in the North Division, then your designated rivals for this season is the 2nd place & 4th place teams from the same division last season. You will face those teams twice in the upcoming season with the 2nd meeting for both of those games coming in Week’s 11 & 13 as the designated Rivalry Week.

*** Home Field Advantage (The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoffs ONLY) ***

Newly added to this season’s Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. is Home Field Advantage! The top seeded teams that make The Chase, will be rewarded the opportunity of having a slight advantage…, the lower seeded team WILL NOT be able to field a kicker for their playoff match up.

*** E.L.S.I.E. Exclusives ***

TheELSIE.com has been a private website since creation, meaning that this website has not been added to Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. Initially this website was for nothing more than hosting tutorials & the league stories that the NFL.com website limited me on in doing so. But with much consideration, we have decided to open TheELSIE.com up to the public with E.L.S.I.E. Exclusives. This season (baring my time), there will be team wallpaper designs, team screen savers for computer & phones, personalized email/SMS team alerts, online Madden & NCAA Football tournaments, models wearing your favorite team colors (affectionately titled E.L.S.I.E.’S instead of Selfie’s), and more. Membership fees may apply, but ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS are already awarded membership!
