Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions teammates and coaches were not surprised that DT Ndamukong Suh was not taking part in voluntary workouts. ‘It certainly didn’t blindside me,’ head coach Jim Caldwell said. ‘We certainly knew. He and I have probably had more discussions than any player that we’ve had on the team. He’s been in-and-out. I think he was here on a couple days when I came on a visit, so we kind of knew exactly what was going on.

Footballguys View: This is the kind of non-story story that we see as the draft analysis is winding down and news is slow. We’d like to see Suh there, as it could be a sign that he is taking more of a leadership role on. But not being there isn’t necessarily a sign of the apocalypse.
