University of Miami forward Erik Swoope is declaring for the NFL Draft after never playing football in college. He is hoping to land in the NFL as a tight end at 6-foot-5.

Footballguys View: Swoope has already been worked out by the Denver Broncos. They struck gold in 2011 when they added Portland State basketball star Julius Thomas. Swoope is certainly going to be at least a priority free agent, but there may be some team willing to spend a late-round pick on him.
