Louisiana State QB Zach Mettenberger is scheduled to meet with the New England Patriots Tuesday, April 8.

Footballguys View: Ryan Mallett may leave New England after this season. It’s the final year of his contract, and he may want to try to go elsewhere to have a realistic shot at a starting job. Grabbing Mettenberger in the second round would be a good idea for the Patriots. They need to groom the next starting quarterback in order to be ready when Tom Brady is done.
