***The 2013 Keeper’s Report***

What’s poppin league members?!?! As our fantasy season progresses right along, did you realize that there are only five weeks left remaining before The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. begins? Where has the time gone?? Hopefully everyone is having a fun and productive fantasy season as we strive to make this league the best that we can. Our goal here with The League!, is to have this be your primarily fantasy league! Which is why having dedicated and active owners/coaches is a priority with this league. I want every owner/coach to really feel apart of this league, which is partly how E.L.S.I.E University and the team profile pages came about. My only request, is that you be that active owner/coach for all of my and my co-commissioners time and efforts spent along the way. I don’t think we are asking too much…lol.

Also, I want to thank everyone this season for being apart of The League! Unfortunately, we had to remove a couple of owner/coaches from the Class of 2013, but I feel we added two stronger, ACTIVE owner/coaches in the process. By adding Cinderella & Over Dwayne Bowe this season, will make it a little more tougher to recruit for next seasons Class of 2014, so I may open up early enrollment for any friends of current league members now. As of now, me (St. Pete ConVICKS & DeSeantourage) and my co-commissioner of the Class of 2013 Rich (Clam Diggers & Eventual Champions) are the only two league members with two teams in The League!, This is due only because I had to have a team in both leagues to commission both leagues and last seasons league champion (Rich) has the choice of co-commissioning the new league added. As does whoever becomes this seasons league champion of the Class of 2013!

However for next seasons Class of 2014, I will open it up to any and all current league members that want to manage a second team. The only requirement is that you bring in a new owner/coach as well. So basically, you bring in fresh meat and you’ll earn yourself a second team…lol. That way, we can continue to grow and add new members as well as give the older league members the opportunity to have the chance of managing two league teams. Open enrollment will start during this seasons Chase for the E.L.S.I.E.

Now to the Keeper’s Report! As mentioned before, every team has the right to retain four players from their teams current roster this season. Two offensive & two defensive players, with out penalty. To keep ANY OTHER variation, you WILL HAVE TO use your teams Franchise Tag option. This option is in place for those teams that are more offensive heavy or defensive heavy. It gives you the option of keeping more players on the side of the ball your stronger on. It is also in place to not water down the draft each and every season, which is why you can only retain four players. We tested this using five or six players before we started The League! and no matter how we did it, there was nothing really left over for the draft except incoming rookies and 80% of the top IDP players. Here is the Keeper’s Rules again by league definition.

By league rules, you are able to establish up to four players as your teams keeper’s. Two offensive players, and two defensive players. The only other variation that is acceptable by league rules is three offensive players & one defensive player… Or one offensive player & three defensive players. You CANNOT keep four offensive players only, or four defensive players only. If you choose to keep a third offensive player, or a third defensive player, you WILL have to Franchise Tag one of the three offensive players, or one of the three defensive players. Franchise Tagging a player really does nothing to your teams roster in the second season. However, whoever you do choose to Franchise Tag, MUST BE RETURNED to the third season draft pool.

So without further ado, here are the 2013 Origins & Class of 2013’s Team’s Keepers. To view this week’s SATURDAY UPDATE, click here.

The Wilkesboro Boxers

In a bold move, Jason of The Wilkesboro Boxers have elected not to retain any players from their current roster. Let’s see if this pays off for him…

So there you have it, the 2013 Keeper’s Report! As you can see Origins members, there are a few big names returning to the draft pool next season. In addition to some of the incoming rookies, next seasons Origins draft will be quite interesting. A reminder for those returning to next season, The League’s draft is ALWAYS the weekend before Week 1 of the NFL. Obviously until the NFL schedule comes out in April 2014, I can not give you an actual date, but plan for the last preseason weekend or the weekend before the NFL regular season starts. And as mentioned earlier, you can still see this weeks SATURDAY UPDATE by clicking here.

Late!!!
