Peyton Manning, quarterback of the Denver Broncos

Missing in action for the last week or so, The Post Game Buzz is back! There will be no Thursday Morning Quarterback this week as we will address the weekly matchups this Sunday during an early morning 4th & 25 to Life Pregame Report. My apologies for my absence recently as my days are starting to get back to normal now but hopefully this set back hasn’t left you feeling stranded and lost, with the inability to manage your fantasy roster…lol. If it has…, THEN STEP YOUR GAME UP MAN!! This is The League! 🙂

Since my schedule has started to let up a bit, and I’ve managed to finish up on some freelancing & personal projects (one of which can be seen here, the new website I did for S.A.I.F Car Service), it’s back to work on The League’s weekly post series! Coming next week, The Post Game Buzz will start covering The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoff Race picture and along side The Thursday Morning Quarterback will be a Special League Report regarding the approaching Keeper’s Deadline (Nov. 5th, 2014 at 11pm EST). So there will be a bunch of information to digest in the next week or so. And with that said…, “Let’s Get To It!!!”

Note: Be sure to set your lineups by 9am Sunday morning as the Detroit/Atlanta game in London kicks off at 9:30am EST. All Detroit Lions & Atlanta Falcons players will be locked into your rosters at that time and there’s nothing I can do to get around that…

Congratulatory Note: Congratulations to Peyton Manning above for breaking Brett Favre’s career NFL passing touchdowns record last week.

Correction: I apologize to Greg of 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall as it appears I overlooked your team for the last Top 10 E.L.S.I.E. Poll.

***Week 7 Recaps***

Origins

Weapons of Mass Production Steals One from JUICE’S and BERRY’s

Weapons of Mass Production was clutch in prime time with 37.32 points on Sunday Night Football and 31.72 on Monday (a combined 56% of their total score) to pull off the comeback against JUICE’S and BERRY’s 123.14 to 107.64. The performance came as no surprise, as they were predicted to do even better than that with 47.12 projected points on Sunday night and 40.00 on Monday. Weapons of Mass Production was led by Peyton Manning (318 Pas Yds, 4 TD). The Denver QB passed for four touchdowns and provided 28.62 points to the total. If JUICE’S and BERRY’s didn’t have both Patrick Willis and Mike Nugent put up zeroes, it could have gone the other way. Weapons of Mass Production (3-4, 1,029.48 points) climbs into eighth place, while JUICE’S and BERRY’s (2-5, 782.42 points) stay in 10th place.

Ben Tate had plenty of looks for Weapons of Mass Production, but he logged just 2.1 yards per touch.

While Arian Foster led Weapons of Mass Production in Week 6 (with 27.10 points), Manning has now been the team’s leading scorer in two of the last three weeks.

In Week 8, Weapons of Mass Production will meet Pick 6’n (4-3, 832.14). JUICE’S and BERRY’s get the St Pete ConVICKS (4-3, 1,081.53), who has averaged a league-leading 154.50 points this season.

Pick 6’n Beats BUCKNASTY’S BOYS

Pick 6’n beat the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS, who found it difficult to score this week, 107.82 to 96.15. Pick 6’n took a 9.15-point lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. This win was revenge for a loss to the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS in their last meeting a season ago. Pick 6’n started two players with zero points while the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS served up one goose egg, meaning both teams left points off the scoreboard. Pick 6’n (4-3, 832.14 points) remains in seventh place and the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS (5-2, 858.37 points) stay in second place.

Alfred Morris had numerous opportunities for the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS, but only produced 3.0 yards per touch.

Since Pierre Garcon was the top scorer for Pick 6’n, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four weeks. With 27.40 points, Frank Gore paced the squad in Week 4, while Golden Tate (21.40 points) was tops in Week 5 and Julio Jones (11.90 points) last week.

Pick 6’n gets a challenge in Week 8 when they go up against Weapons of Mass Production (3-4, 1,029.48), who averages a strong 147.07 points per game. The BUCKNASTY’S BOYS get the NC Bad Boys (3-4, 856.79).

NC Bad Boys Get Victory over Hakeem I Saw I Conquered

The NC Bad Boys logged the second-highest point total this week and beat Hakeem I Saw I Conquered 159.74 to 116.46. The NC Bad Boys took a 16.40-point lead on Thursday and maintained an advantage throughout the matchup. Hakeem I Saw I Conquered still cannot beat the NC Bad Boys, who extended their career unbeaten streak to four games in the series. The NC Bad Boys (3-4, 856.79 points) land in ninth place and Hakeem I Saw I Conquered (4-3, 853.24 points) stays in fifth place.

Khiry Robinson really deserved to get more touches for the NC Bad Boys, as he was able to produce 26 total yards on just three touches.

Since Shane Vereen was the top scorer for the NC Bad Boys, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four matches. With 14.40 points, Martellus Bennett paced the squad in Week 4, while Andy Dalton (16.76 points) was tops in Week 5 and Jarvis Landry (23.60 points) in Week 6. With 10 targets this week for Anquan Boldin, it means that his targets have now risen in four consecutive games.

Next week, the NC Bad Boys get the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS (5-2, 858.37), while Hakeem I Saw I Conquered battles the Clam Diggers (4-3, 962.99).

With Their Top Guns Doing the Heavy Lifting, St Pete ConVICKS Rip Apart Peyton’s Girl

Carried by the triple threat of Russell Wilson, Matt Forte, and Randall Cobb, the St Pete ConVICKS humiliated Peyton’s Girl 172.67 to 116.56. That threesome teamed up to score 83.12 points, substantially more than Everson Griffen, Anthony Barr, and Cameron Wake (51.30 combined points), the top three on Peyton’s Girl. Wilson passed for 313 yards, accumulating 36.12 points (313 Pas Yds, 106 Rsh Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD). Forte recorded two touchdowns to contribute 23.90 points (49 Rsh Yds, 60 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD), while Cobb chipped in 23.10 points (121 Rec Yds, 1 TD). Also, Wilson recorded the highest point total in the league this week. The St Pete ConVICKS had the highest score of the week, as well as the fourth-biggest margin of victory in the league this season. The margin could have been bigger as the St Pete ConVICKS had a starter score zero points (Bobby Wagner). The St Pete ConVICKS (4-3, 1,081.53 points) remain in sixth place, while Peyton’s Girl (1-6, 797.11 points) stays mired in last place.

There was one player on the St Pete ConVICKS that let some chances slip through his hands. Even though Mohamed Sanu saw a total of nine targets, he reeled in just three catches.

While Cobb led the St Pete ConVICKS in Week 4 (with 24.30 points) and Forte in Week 6 (27.70 points), Wilson has now been the team’s top scorer in three of the last five weeks.

Next week, the St Pete ConVICKS square off against JUICE’S and BERRY’s (2-5, 782.42), while Peyton’s Girl matches up with The Monstars (1-6, 924.56).

Georgia Boy Gets Comeback over Clam Diggers for 3rd Consecutive Win

Georgia Boy was clutch when the lights came on with 57.40 points on Sunday Night Football (38% of their total score) to steal the victory from the Clam Diggers 149.80 to 135.10. The late heroics were especially impressive, as they were originally projected to put up just 31.30 points on Sunday night. Georgia Boy was led by Demaryius Thomas this week (171 Rec Yds, 2 TD). The Denver WR racked up 171 yards and added 31.10 points to the cause. Aaron Rodgers also chipped in 25.30 points by getting three passing touchdowns (255 Pas Yds, 3 TD). The outcome could have been worse as Georgia Boy had a starter score zero points (Jerod Mayo). Georgia Boy (5-2, 966.76 points) remains in third place, while the Clam Diggers (4-3, 962.99 points) stay in fourth place.

The Clam Diggers had one noticeable player that failed to capitalize on opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Alshon Jeffery could only manage two catches.

The high scorer for Georgia Boy has flip-flopped the previous few matches. Rodgers led the team with 28.88 points in Week 4 and 22.96 points last week, while Thomas led the way in Week 5 (with 39.60 points) and then again this week.

In Week 8, Georgia Boy will meet top-ranked I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks (6-1, 1,023.44). The Clam Diggers take on Hakeem I Saw I Conquered (4-3, 853.24).

I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks Come from Behind to Edge The Monstars, Streak Now at Four

I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks picked up 25.20 points from Sammy Watkins (122 Rec Yds, 2 TD), slipping by The Monstars 154.46 to 154.38. I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks came into the Monday night game facing an 18.52-point deficit, but scored 19.10 for the comeback victory. This matchup included three lead changes, with the largest lead being 49.52 points after Sunday afternoon. I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks is now coming out on top with regularity and is on a four-game winning streak, while The Monstars is hurting, having lost their last four. I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks (6-1, 1,023.44 points) remain in first place and The Monstars (1-6, 924.56 points) stay in 11th place.

Joique Bell had plenty of looks for The Monstars (20 to be exact), but could only manage 3.4 yards per touch.

While J.J. Watt led I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks last week with 33.50 points, Watkins paced the squad for the first time this season.

Next week, I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks face Georgia Boy (5-2, 966.76). The Monstars get Peyton’s Girl (1-6, 797.11), who sits in last place.

C/O 2013

F-U-Pay-Me Gets Win Against PizzaFreak

F-U-Pay-Me took a 3.30-point lead on Thursday and remained in front for the rest of the matchup. This win was revenge for a loss to PizzaFreak in their last meeting a season ago. F-U-Pay-Me (4-3, 878.86 points) falls to sixth place and PizzaFreak (3-4, 915.46 points) stays in seventh place.

There was one player on F-U-Pay-Me that failed to capitalize on opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Alshon Jeffery could only manage two catches.

After scoring 23.0 points last week and 19.2 the week before, Rodgers has now led F-U-Pay-Me in scoring in three straight weeks, and for three of the last five.

F-U-Pay-Me faces Cinderella (4-3, 999.57) in Week 8. PizzaFreak plays top-ranked DeSeantourage (6-1, 1,058.65).

Cinderella Waxes I go Deep for 3rd Straight Win

With the two-headed monster of Matt Forte and DeMarcus Ware carrying the team, Cinderella tore apart I go Deep 151.00 to 87.90. That tandem combined to record 41.50 points, substantially more than Odell Beckham and Lamar Miller (34.10 combined points), the top two on I go Deep. Forte scored two touchdowns, registering 23.90 points (49 Rsh Yds, 60 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD). Ware also came through with three sacks on his way to 17.60 points (3 Sack, 4 Tack). Cinderella took a 3.10-point lead on Thursday and remained in front for the rest of the matchup. I go Deep just doesn’t have what it takes to beat Cinderella, who extended their career unbeaten streak to two games in the series. Prince Amukamara (acquired via free agency in Week 5) made a big impact, posting 16.80 points. Adding insult to injury, I go Deep got zero points from both Jerod Mayo and Travis Benjamin. Cinderella (4-3, 999.57 points) climbs into fifth place and I go Deep (1-6, 790.29 points) stays locked in the cellar.

There was a player on both teams that got plenty of looks but left some points out on the field. On the winning side, Alfred Morris got 18 touches but only tallied 54 total yards, while Ben Tate was even less effective, managing just 36 yards on 17 touches for I go Deep.

While T.Y. Hilton led Cinderella in Week 6 (with 30.30 points), Forte has now been the team’s leading scorer in two of the last three matches.

Cinderella will face F-U-Pay-Me (4-3, 878.86) in Week 8. I go Deep gets Hero7861 (6-1, 1,025.19), who is averaging an impressive 146.46 points per game.

Hero7861 Comes Back to Beat V-Town in Battle Between Two Most Electric Teams

In an epic battle between the first- and third-highest-scoring teams of the week, Hero7861 came back to beat V-Town 161.94 to 152.31. This is the first time this season a team has scored this many points and not picked up the win. V-Town falls to 11th (2-5) in the standings. Hero7861 (6-1) is in second place and has the second-highest points per game average at 146.46. Peyton Manning (318 Pas Yds, 4 TD) got the third-highest point total of the week (28.62) and Le’Veon Bell scored 20.50 points to lead Hero7861. V-Town was led by Sammy Watkins (122 Rec Yds, 2 TD), who logged 25.20 points, and Randall Cobb (121 Rec Yds, 1 TD), who finished with 23.10. That pair topped their scoring projections by 92.4% and 67.4%, respectively. The result might have been even worse, Hero7861 had a starter finish with zero (Fletcher Cox).

There was some good news for V-Town, as they did start two of the league’s top-10 overall WRs this week. While Arian Foster led Hero7861 last week (with 27.10 points), Manning has now been the team’s high scorer in two of the last three matches.

In Week 8, Hero7861 matches up against the last place team in the league, I go Deep (1-6, 790.29). V-Town squares off against NC Titans (5-2, 921.79).

Andre Williams had plenty of opportunities for Eventual Champions (18 to be exact), but could only manage 2.8 yards per touch.

Since Drew Brees was the top scorer for DeSeantourage, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four matches. With 23.80 points, Jordy Nelson paced the squad in Week 4, while Andre Ellington (30.40 points) was tops in Week 5 and Mohamed Sanu (19.00 points) last week.

Carried by the three-headed monster of Russell Wilson, Shane Vereen, and Trent Richardson, Over Dwayne Bowe defeated The Pride of Detroit 136.62 to 96.86. That threesome combined to score 73.32 points, clearly outpacing the top scorers from The Pride of Detroit (Matthew Stafford, James Ihedigbo, and Emmanuel Sanders), who totaled 42.36 points. Wilson passed for 313 yards, registering 36.12 points (313 Pas Yds, 106 Rsh Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD). Vereen came through with two touchdowns to contribute 24.40 points (43 Rsh Yds, 71 Rec Yds, 2 Rec TD), while Richardson helped out with 12.80 points (77 Rsh Yds, 41 Rec Yds). Wilson also recorded the highest point total in the league this week, with Vereen tallying his highest point total of the season. With Percy Harvin delivering zero points for Over Dwayne Bowe, the result might have been even worse. Over Dwayne Bowe (2-5, 882.97 points) climbs into ninth place, while The Pride of Detroit (2-5, 821.59 points) drops to 10th place.

There was one player on Over Dwayne Bowe that missed out on opportunities. Despite being targeted nine times, Julian Edelman hauled in just four catches.

Next week, Over Dwayne Bowe squares off against the Surprise Scorpians (4-3, 940.82), while The Pride of Detroit faces Eventual Champions (3-4, 904.34).

2014’s Finest

The Hagermaniacs Pick Up Win Against The Denver Broncos, Grab 4th Place

This week’s first- and third-highest-scoring teams met in a shootout as The Hagermaniacs beat The Denver Broncos 161.46 to 138.62. Only four teams scored more points than The Denver Broncos in a game this season and lost. The loss drops The Denver Broncos to 5-2 (3rd place) and puts an end to their two-game win streak. The Hagermaniacs (4-3) is in fourth place, averaging 123.34 points per game. The Denver Broncos actually finished with more total touchdowns (6 to 4) and more total yards (779 to 731), despite coming up short on the scoreboard. Randall Cobb (121 Rec Yds, 1 TD) registered 23.10 points and Everson Griffen (3 Sack, 7 Tack) scored 21.50 points, exceeding their projections by 67.4% and 156.0%, respectively. Matt Forte (49 Rsh Yds, 60 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD) got 23.90 points for The Denver Broncos. It could have gone the other way, The Denver Broncos had two starters who didn’t score (DeAngelo Hall and Justin Tuck). This is the second tough loss this season for The Denver Broncos. Their other one was to Mr Rodgers Neighborhood in Week 4, 178.98 to 150.02.

There was one player on The Hagermaniacs that failed to capitalize on opportunities. Despite being targeted nine times, Julian Edelman hauled in just four catches.

Since Cobb was the top scorer for The Hagermaniacs, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four weeks. With 25.52 points, Matthew Stafford paced the squad in Week 4, while Pierre Thomas (23.20 points) was tops in Week 5 and Lavonte David (14.00 points) in Week 6.

Next week, The Hagermaniacs square off against the Sproles Royce Phantoms (2-5, 869.36); while The Denver Broncos battle the M0t0rCityBall3rs (3-4, 879.19).

Mr Rodgers Neighborhood Spanks M0t0rCityBall3rs, Tacks On 7th Straight Win

With the duo of Aaron Rodgers and Reshad Jones leading the way, Mr Rodgers Neighborhood humiliated the M0t0rCityBall3rs 148.70 to 90.86. That tandem combined to score 43.30 points, clearly outpacing Andrew Luck and Jordy Nelson (35.96 combined points), the top two on the M0t0rCityBall3rs. Rodgers passed for three touchdowns, adding 25.30 points (255 Pas Yds, 3 TD). Jones also helped out with 18.00 points (1 Int, 7 Tack) for the winners. Mr Rodgers Neighborhood took a 72.44-point lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. Still undefeated, Mr Rodgers Neighborhood is piecing together a great season. To make matters worse, the M0t0rCityBall3rs had three starters put up zeroes. The M0t0rCityBall3rs (3-4, 879.19 points) drop to seventh place and Mr Rodgers Neighborhood (7-0, 1,010.46 points) remains in first place.

Andre Williams had plenty of looks for the M0t0rCityBall3rs (18 to be exact), but could only manage 2.8 yards per touch.

After scoring 23.0 points last week and 19.2 the week before, Rodgers has now led Mr Rodgers Neighborhood in scoring in three straight weeks, and for three of the last five.

Mr Rodgers Neighborhood will have to step up their game in Week 8 when they go up against 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall (5-2, 1,038.82), who averages a league-leading 148.40 points per game. The M0t0rCityBall3rs take on The Denver Broncos (5-2, 1,038.26), who has averaged a stout 148.32 points this season.

Fallin-Up Beats 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall

Fallin-Up took advantage of 20.50 points from Le’Veon Bell (57 Rsh Yds, 88 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and 16.70 from Jamaal Charles (95 Rsh Yds, 1 TD), taking down 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall 133.70 to 113.34. 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall scored an ugly 64.6% of their projected points in this matchup, and they’ve failed to hit their projections for four weeks straight. Shane Vereen led 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall with 24.40 points (43 Rsh Yds, 71 Rec Yds, 2 Rec TD) while Antonio Brown brought in 15.22 (90 Rec Yds, 1 Pas TD). Both teams could have scored more points as Fallin-Up had one starter turn in zero points and 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall had two. Fallin-Up (4-3, 866.24 points) remains in fifth place and 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall (5-2, 1,038.82 points) stays in second place.

Mile High (2-5, 811.49 points) climbs into ninth place and the Sproles Royce Phantoms (2-5, 869.36 points) drop to 10th place.

Khiry Robinson probably deserved to get more touches for the Sproles Royce Phantoms, as he put up an efficient 26 total yards on just three touches.

After scoring 18.8 points last week and 36.0 the week before, Manning has now led Mile High in scoring in three straight weeks, and for four of the last five.

Mile High takes on EL JEFE (3-4, 722.08) next week, while the Sproles Royce Phantoms match up with The Hagermaniacs (4-3, 863.39).

Spartans Come from Behind to Edge X CONS, Grabs 11th Place

The Spartans (2-5, 686.13 points) put up the highest score they’ve earned all season to nip the X CONS (1-6, 835.18 points) 112.09 to 109.20 in a back-and-forth thriller. The Spartans took command of the matchup first with a 24.94 to 15.50 lead heading into Sunday. That advantage slipped away after the early Sunday games and they trailed by 16.41. However, by the end of the 49ers/Broncos Sunday night game the Spartans took the lead for good with the help of 11.00 points from Wes Welker.

Since Tom Brady was the top scorer for the Spartans, it means a different player has led the team in each of the last four weeks. With 28.00 points, Matt Asiata paced the squad in Week 4, while Russell Wilson (40.24 points) was tops in Week 5 and Anquan Boldin (15.40 points) last week. With 10 targets this week for Boldin, it means that his targets have now increased in four straight games.

The Spartans take on Fallin-Up (4-3, 866.24) next week while the X CONS battle the Elmboyz (4-3, 818.81).

EL JEFE Drops the Hammer on Elmboyz for 3rd Straight Win

EL JEFE got the second-highest score by a player this week from Demaryius Thomas with 31.10 points (171 Rec Yds, 2 TD), destroying the Elmboyz 125.76 to 74.70. EL JEFE took a 19.50-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. EL JEFE has now won three straight matchups. Both sides missed scoring opportunities as EL JEFE had two starters turn in zero points and the Elmboyz had one. The Elmboyz (4-3, 818.81 points) drops to sixth place and EL JEFE (3-4, 722.08 points) remains in eighth place.

There was one rather noteworthy player on EL JEFE that left points out on the field. Even though Alshon Jeffery saw a total of seven targets, he only reeled in two catches.

After scoring 19.4 points last week and 39.6 the week before, Thomas has now led EL JEFE in scoring in three straight weeks, and for three of the last five.

In Week 8, EL JEFE will face Mile High (2-5, 811.49). The Elmboyz get the last-place X CONS (1-6, 835.18).
