The Minnesota Vikings are conducting a private workout with Eastern Illinois QB Jimmy Garoppolo Friday, April 11, according to an ESPN source.

Footballguys View: Garoppolo has seen his draft stock rise since the Shrine Game and Senior Bowl earlier this year. He has a lightning-quick release, and Garoppolo is athletic enough to keep plays alive with his feet. The young quarterback needs to show the ability to throw to the middle of the field accurately. He usually had simple reads that were close to the line of scrimmage. Some think he could be a late first- or early second-round pick.
