Steve Smith of the Baltimore Ravens

Due to my schedule being ridiculous once again this week, The Thursday Morning Quarterback will be out today Oct. 3rd (what time I’m not sure as of yet). I apologize for the inconvenience as I know most of you look forward to our league’s weekly series…

As we bag the first four weeks of the season, division races are starting to take shape as you will only play three more divisional games this season. This week, and the two Rivalry Games at the end of the season. If you find yourself stuck in 4th, 5th, or last place in your division, consider this week a must win!

For the first time this weekend I managed to go a perfect 3-0 this past weekend. Evening my record at .500 with my St Pete ConVICKS (2-2) & my Sproles Royce Phantoms (2-2), while DeSeantourage tops the league at (4-0). So Let’s Get To It!

Note: Team profiles, aka E.L.S.I.E. University has been updated.

Behind Three Big Performances, I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks Pound NC Bad Boys

Spearheaded by the three-headed monster of Andrew Luck, Jamaal Charles, and J.J. Watt, I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks overwhelmed the NC Bad Boys 180.12 to 75.70. Combining for 84.42 points, that threesome alone beat the total of the NC Bad Boys. Luck passed for four touchdowns, accounting for 31.12 points (393 Pas Yds, 4 TD/1 Int). Charles came through with three touchdowns to contribute 28.80 points (92 Rsh Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 2 Rec TD), while Watt pitched in 24.50 points (1 Int, 1 TD, 3 Ast). Luck also recorded the third-highest point total in the league this week, with Charles tallying the highest point total of the season at his position. I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks had the best score in the league this year, as well as the biggest margin of victory. On top of the loss, the NC Bad Boys had three starters put up zeroes. I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks (3-1, 552.20 points) climb into second place, while the NC Bad Boys (2-2, 460.57 points) drop to sixth place.

LeSean McCoy had plenty of chances for I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks, but he logged just 1.7 yards per touch.

Averaging 26.8 points over the last month, Luck has now led I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks in scoring in every week this season.

I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks will have to step up their game next week when they go up against the Clam Diggers (3-1, 561.94), who averages a strong 140.49 points per game. The NC Bad Boys get Peyton’s Girl (0-4, 449.68).

Behind Surprise Points from Matt Asiata, Clam Diggers Win Against Pick 6’n

With the bonus production from Matt Asiata leading the way, the Clam Diggers defeated Pick 6’n 161.94 to 136.12. The Minnesota RB registered 28.00 points to carry the Clam Diggers to a 25.82-point triumph, beating his 8.90-point projection. Asiata scored three touchdowns as part of his unexpected effort (78 Rsh Yds, 3 TD). He also recorded the third-highest point total of the season at his position. The margin could have been larger as the Clam Diggers won despite two starters scoring zero points. The Clam Diggers (3-1, 561.94 points) climb into first place, while Pick 6’n (2-2, 530.43 points) drops to seventh place.

After Knile Davis led the Clam Diggers last week with 22.20 points, Asiata was the team’s top scorer for the first time this season.

The Clam Diggers play I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks (3-1, 552.20) in Week 5 while Pick 6’n faces JUICE’S and BERRY’s (2-2, 468.84).

JUICE’S and BERRY’s Beat Peyton’s Girl to Move into 9th Place

Matthew Stafford racked up 25.52 points and Jordy Nelson added another 23.80 points with two touchdowns as JUICE’S and BERRY’s took down Peyton’s Girl 115.52 to 109.43. Peyton’s Girl is watching the season slip away and is winless. Morgan Burnett led Peyton’s Girl with 14.50 points (12 Tack) while Delanie Walker racked up 14.40 (84 Rec Yds, 1 TD). With JUICE’S and BERRY’s receiving goose eggs from four of their starters, the margin could have been larger. JUICE’S and BERRY’s (2-2, 468.84 points) climb into ninth place and Peyton’s Girl (0-4, 449.68 points) stays in last place.

Peyton’s Girl had one noteworthy starter that let some chances slip through his hands. Even though Vincent Jackson saw a total of 10 targets, he only reeled in three catches.

While Nelson led JUICE’S and BERRY’s in Week 2 (with 31.90 points) and Reggie Bush in Week 3 (15.90 points), Stafford has now been the team’s leading scorer twice in the last four weeks.

JUICE’S and BERRY’s take on Pick 6’n (2-2, 530.43) next week, while Peyton’s Girl faces the NC Bad Boys (2-2, 460.57).

St Pete ConVICKS Pick Up Victory over Georgia Boy, Moves Up to 5th Place

Randall Cobb scored two touchdowns (24.30 points) and Matt Forte added 19.10 points as the St Pete ConVICKS defeated Georgia Boy 153.52 to 124.58. The St Pete ConVICKS have beaten expectations every week this season, putting up 20.0% more points than their 127.98 projected in this matchup. These two teams are tied for fifth place with 2-2 records, but the St Pete ConVICKS have a clear lead in points, 581.28 to 478.36. Adding insult to injury, Georgia Boy received no points from Charles Johnson.

There was one noteworthy starter on the St Pete ConVICKS that missed out on opportunities. Even though Roddy White saw a total of 14 targets, he only reeled in four catches.

A month into the fantasy season, a different player has now led the St Pete ConVICKS in scoring each and every week.

Next week, the St Pete ConVICKS take on The Monstars (1-3, 487.82), while Georgia Boy faces Weapons of Mass Production (1-3, 558.71).

In Liotta Bowl III, Hakeem I Saw I Conquered Rallies to Beat The Monstars for 3rd in a Row

Hakeem I Saw I Conquered was clutch under the lights with 60.48 points on Sunday Night Football (44% of their total score) to pull off the comeback against The Monstars 137.98 to 132.10. The late heroics were especially impressive, as they were originally projected to have just 30.78 points on Sunday night. Hakeem I Saw I Conquered was led by DeMarco Murray this week (149 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). Murray scored two touchdowns and contributed 28.50 points to the cause. Tony Romo also pitched in with 26.98 points on three passing touchdowns (262 Pas Yds, 3 TD). Hakeem I Saw I Conquered (3-1, 513.82 points) climbs into fourth place, while The Monstars (1-3, 487.82 points) drop to 10th place.

Eddie Lacy had plenty of looks for The Monstars (18 to be exact), but could only manage 3.3 yards per touch.

After Rashad Jennings led Hakeem I Saw I Conquered in Week 3 with 24.60 points, Murray was the team’s top scorer for the first time this season.

Hakeem I Saw I Conquered faces the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS (3-1, 540.48) in Week 5. The Monstars take on the St Pete ConVICKS (2-2, 581.28), who is averaging a league-leading 145.32 points per game.

BUCKNASTY’S BOYS Bring Down Weapons of Mass Production, Secures First-Ever Victory Against Them

The BUCKNASTY’S BOYS (3-1, 540.48 points) beat the defending champion Weapons of Mass Production (1-3, 558.71 points) 139.98 to 122.05 in a matchup with three lead changes. Their top player was Philip Rivers (377 Pas Yds, 3 TD), who had the ninth-highest player score for the season. The BUCKNASTY’S BOYS took command of the matchup first with a 16.50 to 7.90 lead heading into Sunday. That advantage evaporated by the end of the early Sunday games and they trailed by 17.63. The BUCKNASTY’S BOYS took the lead back during Sunday’s late afternoon games and held on for the victory.

There was one rather glaring player on the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS that failed to capitalize on opportunities. Despite being targeted 15 times, Jeremy Maclin could only manage four catches.

One month into the fantasy season, a different player has now led the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS in scoring every single week.

In Week 5, the BUCKNASTY’S BOYS get Hakeem I Saw I Conquered (3-1, 513.82) while Weapons of Mass Production matches up with Georgia Boy (2-2, 478.36).

C/O 2013

Hero7861 Puts the Sting on Over Dwayne Bowe for 4th Straight Win

Hero7861 picked up 26.78 points from Antonio Brown (131 Rec Yds, 2 TD), destroying Over Dwayne Bowe 150.20 to 100.76. Hero7861 took a 27.20-point lead on Thursday and remained in front for the rest of the matchup. These teams are headed in different directions this season, with Hero7861 undefeated and Over Dwayne Bowe winless. Adding insult to injury, Over Dwayne Bowe had two starters score zero points (James Laurinaitis and Janoris Jenkins). Hero7861 (4-0, 568.96 points) climbs into second place and Over Dwayne Bowe (0-4, 473.92 points) stays in the cellar.

Jacquizz Rodgers probably deserved more touches for Over Dwayne Bowe, as he was able to put up 37 total yards on just five touches.

After scoring 22.7 points last week, Brown has now led Hero7861 in scoring for two weeks in a row.

Hero7861 squares off against Eventual Champions (3-1, 559.34) in Week 5, while Over Dwayne Bowe faces NC Titans (2-2, 529.50).

With Their Top Guns Doing the Heavy Lifting, NC Titans Beat Cinderella

Led by the triumvirate of Andrew Luck, Frank Gore, and Lavonte David, the NC Titans defeated Cinderella 156.42 to 118.00. That threesome combined to register 73.52 points, winning the battle against the top scorers from Cinderella (Matt Forte, Justin Houston, and Alfred Morris), who totaled 51.50 points. Luck passed for four touchdowns, accounting for 31.12 points (393 Pas Yds, 4 TD/1 Int). Gore also recorded 27.40 points (119 Rsh Yds, 55 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD), while David helped out with 15.00 points (10 Tack). Also, Luck recorded the third-highest point total in the league this week. To make matters worse, Cinderella had a starter score zero points (Olivier Vernon). The NC Titans (2-2, 529.50 points) climb into fourth place, while Cinderella (1-3, 530.77 points) drops to 10th place.

There was one rather significant starter on the NC Titans who could’ve better connected with his QB. Even though Roddy White saw a total of 14 targets, he only reeled in four catches.

Averaging 26.8 points over the last month, Luck has now led the NC Titans in scoring in every matchup this year.

Next week, the NC Titans take on Over Dwayne Bowe (0-4, 473.92), while Cinderella gets PizzaFreak (2-2, 518.78).

PizzaFreak Steals One from Eventual Champions, Moves to 7th Place

PizzaFreak was clutch under the lights with 66.40 points on Sunday Night Football (46% of their total score) to seal the comeback against Eventual Champions 143.92 to 117.54. The late heroics were a little unexpected, since they were originally projected to have 49.00 points on Sunday night. PizzaFreak was led by DeMarco Murray (149 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). Murray scored two touchdowns and contributed 28.50 points to the final tally. If Eventual Champions didn’t have four starters put up goose eggs, it could have gone the other way. PizzaFreak (2-2, 518.78 points) climbs into seventh place, while Eventual Champions (3-1, 559.34 points) drop to third place.

Eventual Champions had one glaring starter that failed to capitalize on opportunities. Even though Jeremy Maclin saw a total of 15 targets, he only reeled in four catches.

While Colin Kaepernick led PizzaFreak last week (with 18.20 points), Murray has now been the team’s leading scorer in two of the past three matches.

PizzaFreak will meet Cinderella (1-3, 530.77) next week. Eventual Champions take on Hero7861 (4-0, 568.96), who has averaged a solid 142.24 points this season.

DeSeantourage Beats Surprise Scorpians, Tacks On 4th Straight Win

DeSeantourage got the highest point total in the C/O 2013 this week and got past the Surprise Scorpians 156.60 to 141.92. DeSeantourage took a 0.50-point lead on Thursday and never looked back. The Surprise Scorpians still cannot beat DeSeantourage, who extended their career unbeaten streak to two games in the series. The Surprise Scorpians (2-2, 518.12 points) drop to eighth place and DeSeantourage (4-0, 630.72 points) remains in first place.

While Drew Brees led DeSeantourage in Week 3 (with 20.72 points), Jordy Nelson has now been the team’s high scorer in two of the past three matches.

In Week 5, DeSeantourage gets The Pride of Detroit (2-2, 507.24), while the Surprise Scorpians match up against F-U-Pay-Me (2-2, 494.91).

The Pride of Detroit Creeps Past V-Town to Grab 6th Place

The Pride of Detroit picked up 25.70 points from Eddie Royal (105 Rec Yds, 2 TD) and 25.52 from Matthew Stafford (293 Pas Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD) to nip V-Town 154.32 to 149.78. While each team met their expectations, The Pride of Detroit scored 9.2% more than their projected 141.32 points to get the win. Tony Romo led V-Town with 26.98 points (262 Pas Yds, 3 TD) while Randall Cobb brought in 24.30 (113 Rec Yds, 2 TD). V-Town got zero points from Steven Hauschka, which might have made the difference in the outcome. The Pride of Detroit (2-2, 507.24 points) climbs into sixth place and V-Town (1-3, 535.84 points) drops to ninth place.

Khiry Robinson ultimately deserved more touches for V-Town, as he was able to put up 105 total yards on just 10 touches.

Considering Steven Hauschka had 0.00 points and Robinson earned just 10.50, The Pride of Detroit was fortunate that Hauschka and Marshawn Lynch had their bye in Week 4. If either one had played and produced his average (7.00 points for Hauschka and 20.83 for Lynch) then The Pride of Detroit would’ve lost. A month into the fantasy season, a different player has now led The Pride of Detroit in scoring each and every week.

In Week 5, The Pride of Detroit faces DeSeantourage (4-0, 630.72), who puts up a league-leading 157.68 points per game. V-Town gets I go Deep (1-3, 451.85).

Behind Surprise Points from Steve Smith, F-U-Pay-Me Beats I go Deep

With the bonus production from Steve Smith leading the way, F-U-Pay-Me beat I go Deep 135.08 to 111.12. Only projected to score 9.00 points, Smith exceeded expectations with 29.90 in the 23.96-point win. The Baltimore WR scored two touchdowns as part of his unexpected effort (139 Rec Yds, 2 TD). He also recorded the highest point total of the week at his position. Both teams left points off the scoreboard as F-U-Pay-Me had two starters turn in zero points and I go Deep had one. F-U-Pay-Me (2-2, 494.91 points) climbs into fifth place, while I go Deep (1-3, 451.85 points) drops to 11th place.

There was a player on both teams that got plenty of opportunities but could’ve been more effective. On the winning side, DeAngelo Williams got 11 touches but only tallied 34 total yards, while Alfred Blue was even less effective, managing just 25 yards on 11 touches for I go Deep.

While Aaron Rodgers led F-U-Pay-Me in Week 2 (with 37.44 points) and Kam Chancellor in Week 3 (20.70 points), Smith has now been the team’s top scorer twice in the past four matches.

F-U-Pay-Me takes on the Surprise Scorpians (2-2, 518.12) next week while I go Deep faces V-Town (1-3, 535.84).

2014’s Finest

Elmboyz Come From Behind to Nip 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall, Ousts Them from 1st Place

The Elmboyz (3-1, 509.91 points) edged 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall (3-1, 605.80 points) 114.14 to 113.70. They were led by Jay Cutler (256 Pas Yds, 29 Rsh Yds, 2 TD/2 Int) with 25.14 points. Heading into Sunday, the Elmboyz was out in front 31.70 to 23.40. After the late Sunday games, they lost that lead and fell behind by 2.76. The Elmboyz then secured the victory with a comeback on Monday evening.

LeSean McCoy had numerous chances for 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall, but only produced 1.7 yards per touch.

The top scorer for the Elmboyz have flip-flopped the last few weeks. Marshawn Lynch led the team with 25.40 points in Week 1 and 24.80 points last week, while Cutler led the way in Week 2 (with 22.64 points) and then again this week.

The Elmboyz take on the Spartans (0-4, 392.26) in Week 5 while 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall gets Mile High (1-3, 438.43).

Powered by Stars, M0t0rCityBall3rs Top Spartans

Led by the trio of Andrew Luck, Frank Gore, and Jordy Nelson, the M0t0rCityBall3rs got a victory over the Spartans 131.82 to 95.16. That threesome combined to tally 82.32 points, significantly more than the top scorers from the Spartans (Matt Asiata, C.J. Spiller, and Tamba Hali), who totaled 57.10 points. Luck passed for four touchdowns, registering 31.12 points (393 Pas Yds, 4 TD/1 Int). Nelson put up two touchdowns to contribute 23.80 points (108 Rec Yds, 2 TD), while Gore chipped in 27.40 points (119 Rsh Yds, 55 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD). Also, Luck recorded the third-highest point total in the league this week. The M0t0rCityBall3rs played one starter with zero points while the Spartans also served up one goose egg, meaning both teams left points off the scoreboard. The M0t0rCityBall3rs (2-2, 560.25 points) fall to seventh place, while the Spartans (0-4, 392.26 points) stay in 11th place.

After scoring 31.3 points last week, Luck has now led the M0t0rCityBall3rs in scoring in back-to-back weeks, and for three of the last four.

Next week, the M0t0rCityBall3rs take on The Hagermaniacs (3-1, 485.99), while the Spartans get the Elmboyz (3-1, 509.91).

The Hagermaniacs Bring Down Mile High

The Hagermaniacs picked up 25.52 points from Matthew Stafford (293 Pas Yds, 2 Pas TD, 1 Rsh TD) and 15.70 from Justin Forsett (66 Rsh Yds, 31 Rec Yds, 1 TD), taking down Mile High 113.72 to 103.47. Mile High actually averages more per game in losses (111.74) than wins (103.22). Both teams completely failed to meet expectations, but The Hagermaniacs picked up the win with 71.0% of their projected 160.22 points. The Hagermaniacs (3-1, 485.99 points) remain in fourth place and Mile High (1-3, 438.43 points) stays in ninth place.

Jacquizz Rodgers probably deserved to get more touches for Mile High, as he put up an efficient 37 total yards on just five touches.

While Julian Edelman led The Hagermaniacs in Week 2 (with 21.60 points) and Lavonte David last week (13.50 points), Stafford has now been the team’s top scorer twice in the last four weeks.

In Week 5, The Hagermaniacs face the M0t0rCityBall3rs (2-2, 560.25). Mile High gets 99 Bortles of Beer on the Wall (3-1, 605.80), who is averaging a league-leading 151.45 points per game.

Sproles Royce Phantoms Get Victory Against X CONS, Move Up to 6th Place

The Sproles Royce Phantoms defeated the X CONS 149.70 to 127.38 and registered the second-highest score of the week. The X CONS actually averages more per game in losses (112.33) than wins (93.84). Both sides failed to hit their projections, but the Sproles Royce Phantoms scored 97.6% of a projected 153.40 points to pick up the win. The Sproles Royce Phantoms (2-2, 522.97 points) climb into sixth place and the X CONS (1-3, 430.82 points) stay in 10th place.

There was one rather important starter on the Sproles Royce Phantoms who could’ve better connected with his QB. Even though Roddy White saw a total of 14 targets, he only reeled in four catches.

One month into the fantasy season, a different player has now led the Sproles Royce Phantoms in scoring every single week.

The Sproles Royce Phantoms square off against EL JEFE (0-4, 322.78) in Week 5, while the X CONS face The Denver Broncos (3-1, 546.08).

Behind a Sizzling Showing from Philip Rivers, Fallin-Up Beats EL JEFE

With the production from Philip Rivers playing an integral role, Fallin-Up beat EL JEFE 124.48 to 94.88. In the 29.60-point triumph for Fallin-Up, Rivers heated up for 31.88 points. He passed for 377 yards as part of his huge game (377 Pas Yds, 3 TD). He also recorded the second-highest point total in the league this week. With Mike Nugent delivering zero points for Fallin-Up, the result might have been even worse. Fallin-Up (2-2, 455.00 points) remains in eighth place, while EL JEFE (0-4, 322.78 points) stays in the cellar.

Each team had a rather glaring player that let some chances slip through his hands. For Fallin-Up, Jeremy Maclin saw a total of 15 targets, but was only able to reel in four catches. Vincent Jackson put on a similar showing for EL JEFE, as he was only able to snag three passes on 10 targets.

After scoring 17.1 points last week, Rivers has now led Fallin-Up in scoring in consecutive weeks.

Fallin-Up have a tough one next week when they go up against Mr Rodgers Neighborhood (4-0, 585.76), who averages a strong 146.44 points per game. EL JEFE gets the Sproles Royce Phantoms (2-2, 522.97).

Mr Rodgers Neighborhood Beats The Denver Broncos, Takes Over Top Spot in League

This week’s first- and third-highest-scoring teams met in an epic battle as Mr Rodgers Neighborhood beat The Denver Broncos 178.98 to 147.02. Only one team scored more points than The Denver Broncos in a game this season and lost. The loss drops The Denver Broncos to 3-1 (5th place) and ends their three-game win streak. Mr Rodgers Neighborhood (4-0) is in first place and has the second-highest points per game average at 146.44. However, the combined points was tough to predict given that Mr Rodgers Neighborhood was only expected to score 135.78 points and The Denver Broncos was projected to score 111.54 points. Steve Smith (139 Rec Yds, 2 TD) recorded 29.90 points and Aaron Rodgers (302 Pas Yds, 4 TD) scored 28.88 points, exceeding their projections by 232.2% and 23.0%, respectively. The Denver Broncos was led by DeMarco Murray (149 Rsh Yds, 2 TD), who put up 28.50 points, and Colin Kaepernick (218 Pas Yds, 58 Rsh Yds, 2 TD/1 Int), who finished with 19.52. That pair topped their scoring projections by 223.9% and 62.1%, respectively. If The Denver Broncosdidn’t have three starters finish with zero, things could have been different.

A month into the fantasy season, a different player has now led Mr Rodgers Neighborhood in scoring each and every week.

In Week 5, Mr Rodgers Neighborhood plays Fallin-Up (2-2, 455.00); while The Denver Broncos match up against the X CONS (1-3, 430.82).
