For the first time in The League! there will be three trophies up for grabs among our league members. The Yorkie Award, the Donte Award and the E.L.S.I.E. Award presented to our league champion. So Let’s Get To It!!!
*The Yorkie Award*
In Memory of Samantha York
If you haven’t already heard the bad news, Samantha York, one of the original league members passed away in June (read Day 13 – Forever Peyton’s Girl). Although most league members came to recognize her by her team name Peyton’s Girl, Samantha will surely be missed. In honor of her memory, the Yorkie Award will be awarded to the Origins Conference franchise that represents them in our league’s E.L.S.I.E. Bowl (basically the AFC’s version of the Lamar Hunt Trophy awarded to the winners of the AFC Championship game in the NFL).
The Yorkie is made up of heavy resin casting, hand painted and gift boxed for the lucking individual. The trophy stands 6.5 inches high and will be engraved with your team name and team record among other things.
*The Donte Award*
In Memory of Donte Williams
Not a former member of this league but a great friend nonetheless, my close Florida State buddy Donte Williams also unfortunately passed away this passed April. Although not a fan of IDP leagues, we always shared a passion for fantasy football and football in general. In honor of his memory, the Donte Award will be awarded to the Legends Conference franchise that represents them in our league’s E.L.S.I.E. Bowl (basically the NFC’s version of the George Halas Trophy awarded to the winners of the NFC Championship game in the NFL).
The Donte is also made up of heavy resin casting, hand painted and gift boxed for the lucking individual. The trophy stands 6.5 inches high as well and will be engraved with your team name and team record among other things.
*The E.L.S.I.E. Award*
The League! – E.F.F.L. Championship Trophy
Our league’s championship trophy is in essence a traveling trophy. It will be displayed at all league gatherings although it will not travel to each individuals home. Instead, your teams dominance will be engraved on the trophy and will stay there for years to come until retired (like how they retire a ring on the Stanley Cup in hockey). There’s nothing really new except for the fact that the trophy will now be two levels. The levels will display the following…
- Top Left – Will display Origins Conference Champions
- Top Front – Will display the League Champions
- Top Right – Will display Legends Conference Champions
- Bottom Left & Right – Will display the Most Recent Seasonal Award Winners
The E.L.S.I.E. Award stands 11 inches tall while the take home E.L.S.I.E. Award is about 7 inches tall. The take home E.L.S.I.E. Award is displayed below.
