Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings

As we start the Divisional round of the playoffs for The Chase for The E.L.S.I.E., upsets were the theme of  Wildcard weekend. Three of the four games featured upsets! With that kinda parody, there’s no telling who will win the coveted E.L.S.I.E. Award. My predictions in the Playoff Preview have been completely destroyed as I’m currently sitting at 1-3 in the Wildcard games I predicted. If you haven’t already checked out the PLayoff Preview post I did on TheELSIE.com, check it out from the link above. So Let’s Get To It!

Adrian Peterson was the highlight of the Wildcard Weekend, going off for 210 Rush Yds and 1 TD, plus an additional 10 Rec Yds, (30.00 fantasy pts) on the way to helping the 12th seeded Clam Diggers (2-11) upset the heavily favored #5 Pick 6’n (8-5). Josh Freeman (17.38) and Wes Welker (16.30) also put up huge numbers in helping the Clam Diggers pull off the upset as Pick 6’n only offense came from Brandon Marshall (18.50) and Ray Rice (14.30) while leaving Ryan Fitzpatrick (18.28) on the sidelines.

In the second upset of the weekend, the Tampa Giants (3-10) surprised the also heavily favored Weapons of Mass Production (7-6) by 20 pts. Bryce Brown (28.30) and Cam Newton (27.08) both went off for the Tampa Giants as their offense seemed to finally get into rhythm. Steve Smith (18.00), Matt Schaub (17.18), LB-Chad Greenway (15.50) and DL-J.J. Watt (15.00) all put up solid performances for Weapons of Mass Production in a losing effort.

The third upset of the weekend came in the 9 vs. 8 seed game as the inconsistent BUCKNASTYS BOYS (5-8) upended the NC Bad Boys (5-8). Jay Cutler (22.02) and K-Jason Hanson (17.00) highlighted the BUCKNASTYS BOYS in scoring while leaving Marshawn Lynch (14.80) on the sidelines to watch. The NC Bad Boys got solid performances from Calvin Johnson (23.10) and RG3 (17.72) in a losing effort while also leaving a strong performance from Heath Miller (16.70) on the sidelines.

In the only game to not feature an upset, the only game where the favored team won…lol., DemBoys (9-4) packed a lunch and took care of business as they knocked Peyton’s Girl (2-11) one step closer into next seasons #1 overall pick. K-Connor Barth (15.00) and Stevan Ridley (13.10) lead DemBoys in scoring as Pierre Garcon (17.60), Eli Manning (14.70) and James Starks (14.20) all had solid performances for Peyton’s Girl.

This Week’s Divisional Round Match Ups:
BUCKNASTYS BOYS (5-8) vs. #1 The Monstars (9-3)
Clam Diggers (2-11) vs. #4 Maclin on Your Girl (8-4)
DemBoys (9-4) vs. #3 St. Pete ConVICKS (9-3)
Tampa Giants (3-10) vs. #2 I Got Sacks On Sacks On Sacks (9-3)

Our championship game is only two weeks out, to present our trophy we will need a spot to meet up and host the championship game. I have put this out before but to no avail but if you know of a good spot to hang and watch the games that Sunday, leave your comments and thoughts below. Otherwise a locale will be picked at random and I would like as much feedback as possible to insure as many people can make it out.

Samantha, being that you are the only one not here in Tampa anymore, please disregard. We will host the draft party in Tennessee next season just for you…lol.
