Tavon Austin, Wide Receiver of the St. Louis RamsWhat’s poppin’ league family. Just for the record, please disregard the fact that there is a random image of Aaron Rodgers and not Tavon Austin as of now. I’ve said it before, outside of their team management aspect, the NFL.com website (and phone app for that matter) is absolute garbage for a billion dollar a year company. For some reason their website won’t let me upload the picture for this weeks Thursday Morning Quarterback! I will rectify this situation as soon as possible once I dive into their source code to ensure the issue is on their end and not my own. You can always head over to TheELSIE.com to read the article in full. Anyways…, enough of me bitching! Let’s get to some football!

Another week down, another week closer to The Chase for the E.LS.I.E! As the playoff race heats up, there are a few fortunate teams that can clinch a spot in this years chase, as others are still fighting to get in. And just in time as we finish off the non-divisional part of our league’s schedule. This weeks edition of The Thursday Morning Quarterback will feature all the usual suspects as normal, as well as the updated chase results for Week 11. We will also point out the how next season scheduling will breakdown. So as I like to always say, Let’s Get To It!!!

***The League! – Regular Season Scheduling***

This season, we implemented a 13 game regular season schedule instead of last seasons 12 game regular season schedule. This was due to the fact that we eliminated the bye weeks for the top seeds in the playoffs. So now with a 13 game schedule, each team will face all 5 teams in their division and all 6 teams in the other division for a total of 11 games. The final two games will be against divisional teams based off of how your division finished the previous year. For example, say your division finishes like the example below…

North Division:

  1. PizzaFreak
  2. Cinderella
  3. The Wilkesboro Boxers
  4. Eventual Champions
  5. Hero7861
  6. Over Dwayne Bowe

The two Divisional Rematch games, say we’ll call it that, will fall like this…

3 * 4 * 5 * 6 * 1 * 2 * 3 * 4 * 5 * 6 * 1 * 2 * 3 *…

So the team in position 1 (in this example, PizzaFreak), would play divisional rematches against the team in position 6 (Over Dwayne Bowe) & the team in position 2 (Cinderella). So with the example above, PizzaFreak would face both Over Dwayne Bowe & Cinderella twice next season. Basically wherever your team finishes among their division, your team will face the team in front of yours and the team behind yours for your teams two Divisional Rematch games. (If your in team 1 position, you will face team 6 & team 2).

***The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E.***

As the season progresses along, The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoff Race heats up! As like last week, no team has been mathematically eliminated from The Chase as of yet, but some teams have a chance a clinching a playoff berth with wins this weekend. The tiebreakers used to determine seeding between teams with the same record are 1.) Head-to-Head 2.) Divisional Record 3.) Points Scored vs. Head-to-Head meetings {NOTE: Every team plays two divisional teams twice, which starts next week. If you split with that team, then total points scored between those two meetings will be the tie breaker} & 4.) Overall Points Scored. So here are The Chase results for Week 10, if the playoffs began today.Check out the current Chase Standings below…
