Making an encore appearance to The League! – E.F.F.L. is the Home Field Advantage Rule. Last season, we implemented the Home Field Advantage Rule during The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoffs and it worked out great! Unfortunately because of the NFL.com website being so limited in allowing us to add this feature to its back-end, we had to manually add this by having the lower seeded teams not field a kicker in their playoff match-ups. With our move to the MyFantasyLeague.com platform, this will no longer be the case. This is actually a feature that can be added to the back-end so you no longer have to sit your kicker.
This season, home teams will be given a 7 point advantage to represent their Home Field Advantage at the start of every match-up. You may be wondering where we got the 7 points for the Home Field Advantage Rule. It was actually quite simple. We came up with this number by averaging the fantasy points scored by the Top 25 Kickers for the entire season last year. The average came to 6.7 points per game, which we rounded up to an even 7 points.
Also, the Home Field Advantage Rule will now also be season-wide, meaning that this will not only be for The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoffs anymore. This rule will take effect for the entire regular season. Each franchise will have 8 opportunities to use this rule in their teams advantage as each franchise will play 8 regular season home games. Hell, this rule may even help get you bye those dreaded bye weeks… lol.
