PathtotheDraft25

As we proceed further into our 30 for 30 Series The Path to the Draft, we are now getting away from the tutorials on navigating the MyFantasyLeague.com website and starting to focus more on new features added. Today, we will tackle the all new Double Header Weekends.

For the first time ever in The League! – E.F.F.L., we will have a 16-game regular season just like the real NFL teams. However, there is no way to do this naturally  as our fantasy playoffs wouldn’t start until Week 17 of the NFL season if we did and we all know that wouldn’t work. We also wanted to incorporate playing a few games against the other conference, I mean what’s the point in having a 24-team league if you never faced the other 12-teams from the other conference? And so the birth of the 16-game regular season idea was born. 🙂

Personally, I always liked the idea of having your league’s championship game no later than Week 16, figuring that any NFL teams that had already clinched a playoff berth would more than likely sit their starters (or at least not play them the entire four quarters) in Week 17. And that would absolutely suck if you were counting on Aaron Rodgers to take you to the fantasy promise land in the biggest game of the season. So we decided to stay with our original 13-week regular season and could continue with The Chase for the E.L.S.I.E. Playoff Race as a 3-week post season.

During the 13-week regular season, the Double Header Weekends will be in Week 4, Week 8 & Week 12. Week 4 & Week 12’s double header games will be against a team from the other conference and the Week 8 double header game will be against a division rival. Now, there’s no changes on your part as you will set your line up as you would normally any other week. The only difference is that your teams fantasy points will be going up against two different teams at the same time. To show an example of this, let’s say my franchise DeSeantourage is playing against Georgia Boy and my double header game is against Mile High in Week 4.

Let’s pretend my team puts up 133.12 fantasy points for Week 4. Georgia Boy puts up 129.37 fantasy points while Mile High puts up a strong 141.89 fantasy points in Week 4. In this example, I would win my game against Georgia Boy 133.12 – 129.37, but I would lose my double header game against Mile High 141.89 – 133.12, going 1 – 1 for the week.

And that’s about it! Let me know if this does not make any sense to you and I will try to have a one-on-one with you so you can understand this better but I would hope that this makes sense. If this doesn’t, I like my chances at taking it all this season…lol. Late!  🙂
